Brink Origins

Brinks live all around the Earth now, although it seems likely that the surname lineages started in Europe.  There are early major lineages of Brinks that moved to North America from The Netherlands and from Germany, although there have long been Brink families throughout northern Europe.

It is possible that all of the earliest Brink families in North America descended from one man, Lambert Huybertse (Brink).  Lambert immigrated to New Amsterdam (New York) from The Netherlands in 1659.   

Both the 1790 and 1800 United States census records show Brinks (and Brincks) living in three states, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont.  It is possible that all of these early Brink families descended from one man, Lambert Huybertse (Brink).  See the tables below.
